Urethral stricture

Urethral stricture

Dr Jnanee Krishnasamy

A urethral stricture is an abnormal narrowing of the urethra, the tube that goes from the bladder to the outside world. A urethral stricture is often caused by scarring from previous issues, although you might not ever identify what caused the original stricture. Urethral strictures cause urinary issues in pets (e.g. difficulty urinating, pain when urinating) and the narrowed urethra is easier to block, making severe disease more likely.
