Urethra

Dr Jnanee Krishnasamy

The urethra is the hollow tube that connects the bladder to an opening in the body. Urine leaves the body through the urethra. The urethra is long and narrow in male pets, while it is short and broader in female pets. It has several circular muscles that control the flow of urine so that animals can void voluntarily rather than constantly dribbling.
