Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency
Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough digestive juices. EPI impairs digestion, which leads to decreased nutrient absorption in the body. Signs of EPI include weight loss (despite a good appetite) and diarrhoea.
