Addison’s disease is another name for hypoadrenocorticism. It’s a condition where a dog’s adrenal glands don’t produce enough essential hormones, leading to various health problems.

Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison’s disease) is a lack of adrenocortical hormones, including cortisol. It can be naturally occurring in dogs, but can also happen when steroid medications are stopped too suddenly or when Cushing’s (hyperadrenocorticism) is over-treated.
