The ventricles are the two lower chambers of the heart. They receive blood from the atria and pump it to the lungs and body.

The atria are the two upper chambers of the heart. There is one on the right side of the heart, and one on the left. They act like holding chambers for blood before it passes to the ventricles.

ACTH (Adrenocorticotrophic hormone) is a hormone that is released from the pituitary gland and stimulates the adrenal gland to release cortisol. If it’s over-produced due to a pituitary tumour, it can cause Cushing’s disease.
