Cushing’s disease in dogs is quite common, but it’s frustrating to diagnose and treat. If your dog has been diagnosed with Canine Cushing’s, it’s easy to feel lost.
Our new course has been written by Dr Rebecca MacMillan, a vet with many years of experience and further qualifications in internal medicine. And then we got it proofread by Dr Emma Rogers-Smith, another vet with advanced qualifications, experience, and an interest in this area. Between them (and our amazing team of course engineers), we’ve created the most in-depth and engaging resource for pet owners on the internet.
Who is this course for?
This e-learning course is for any pet owner who is confused about Cushing’s. You might have received a diagnosis for your dog, or you might be going through the diagnostic process in the hope of getting an answer. Maybe your dog has had Cushing’s for a while, and their treatment isn’t going so well, so you want to explore more options for Cushing’s treatment.
While we’ve written this course for pet owners, vet students might find it a good way to revise. That’s how accurate and in-depth the information inside is! Equally, it might be a handy CPD for a vet nurse or new graduate vet to refresh their knowledge of this complex disease.
Why an e-learning course?
Yes, there’s a lot of free information on the internet. But it’s of questionable quality and unknown accuracy. It’s also not necessarily up to date. And it can be hard to read, because the information is presented on one long page.
Our course is broken down into steps and sections so you can access the bit you need straight away, or work from start to finish. You can skip straight to the treatment section, if you want to explore treatment options, or read about how Cushing’s happens in the first place. And you can access it over and over, as often as you need.
We pride ourselves on this course’s:
- Readability – we’ve designed it to be really easy to read and understand
- Accessibility – assistive technologies are catered for
- Evidence-base – over 20 scientific papers are linked throughout
- Independence – we are not sponsored by drug or food companies!
- Funness – ok so that’s not a word, but we made this course interesting and fun to help you learn
