Tooth resorption

This term refers to the damage to the tooth due to breakdown by a certain type of cell within the tooth, known as odontoclasts. This leads to holes in the tooth and exposure of the pulp cavity, which is painful. Eventually, the tooth crown becomes misshapen and can resorb completely.
